Know Your Limitation Periods
Most civil claims have strict time limits. For contracts and torts, you typically have 6 years from the breach/damage, or 3 years for personal injury. These deadlines are usually absolute - miss them and your claim is worthless regardless of merit. Don't wait until the last minute, as court delays can catch you out. If you're approaching a limitation date, issue protective proceedings even if you're still negotiating.
